He is an entrepreneur, education leader, and dedicated public servant who is focused on saving Coloradans money, keeping the economy strong, and preserving the Colorado way of life. During his opening remarks and a fireside session, he’ll share his vision for the future of housing in the State of Colorado, discuss challenges, comment on recent accomplishments, and outline strategic opportunities.
In this session Douglas Gilliland, Managing Director of Taurus Investment Holdings and co-founder of EcoSmart Solution, will share decades of experience across dozens of successful technology innovation partnerships. He has entitled, planned and developed over 12,000 Single Family lots and Multifamily units in 31 master-planned, mixed-use, and niche developments in Texas, Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri. His most significant contribution to the housing industry is the creation of sustainable development principles that have resulted in cutting edge innovation in land use policy. As part of Taurus Investment Holdings, Douglas and his partners bring vast experience, resources, and a global perspective to sustainable real estate development through operations in North America, South America, Europe and India. Douglas will share case studies as a leading real estate developer familiar with driving advancements in his communities through strategic partnerships with technology companies and builders.
Mayor Mike Johnston is a Colorado native and former CEO of Gary Community Ventures, a Denver based philanthropic organization. As Mayor, he is committed to transforming Denver into America’s best city by delivering a city that is vibrant, affordable, and safe for everyone.
Through this conversation with Santhosh Ramdoss of Gary Community Ventures, Mayor Johnston will discuss his H3K goals including reducing permitting time by 30% and increasing supply of affordable housing units.
