Vivek Sah, PhD, is the director of the Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management in the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver (DU). Sah leads the Burns School in all aspects of its operations, including managing the undergraduate and graduate programs in the built environment, fundraising, industry outreach, conducting innovative policy-oriented research, and forging strategic partnerships on campus, across the nation, and around the world. He received his PhD in Business Administration with a focus on Real Estate Finance and Investments from Georgia State University in 2009. He also has an MBA in Finance and holds an undergraduate degree in engineering.
Vivek’s primary research interests and focus are in the areas of REITs and housing markets. His research has been published in all leading real estate journals in the U.S and U.K. He is currently the editor of the Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management and a past editor of the Journal of Sustainable Real Estate. As an expert on all housing and real estate matters, Vivek has been quoted in the media on numerous occasions including National Public Radio, Wall Street Journal, and Globestreet, among many other outlets. From 2017 to 2021, Vivek was one of the 13 national Distinguished Research Fellows of NAIOP, one of North America’s largest and most prestigious commercial real estate organizations.
